Take3: We’ve added drums to make it a quartet! And, of course, we still strive for unshakeable groove in everything we play. Plus, there’s still loads of exploration and affirmation going on when it comes to harmonic and rhythmic terrain…

As our name implies, we’re a group in the jazz idiom – which means we like to play songs with certain grooves and interesting or lush harmonies. And it’s those hip harmonies, catchy melodies and infectious rhythms that also inspire us and make our music challenging, fun to play and, hopefully, great to listen and dance to.

Our songs: an array of standards (Porter, Mercer, Hefti, Rogers… ), bossas (Jobin), sambas, funk and blues tunes (Hancock), hip-hop reworkings (Monk), modern compositions (Erskine – New Orleans second line, Metheny) and originals.

So, take groove, harmony and – the new Take3!
